Privacy Policy

How VyshyvankaDaily handles personal data: what we collect and why, how long we keep it, who we share it with and your rights.

01Who processes your data

VyshyvankaDaily is a personal project run by a private individual. We decide what data is collected and why, meaning we act as the data controller.

For any question about your data, reach out through the contact page.

02What data we collect

When you register: your email address, an encrypted password, and, optionally, a display name. When you sign in with Google, we receive your email address and name from your Google profile, but not your password.

When you submit the article proposal form: your name, email address, organization name if you provided one, the text of the proposal, and the sender's IP address.

When you use the site: technical server logs, including your IP address, request time, and browser type.

We don't collect payment card data, since there are no payments on the site.

03Why, and on what basis

We process most data to provide the service you're using - account login, your collection, and confirmation and password reset emails.

  • Email and password - to log into your account.
  • Saved patterns and the day counter - to run your collection.
  • Email address - for registration confirmation and password reset emails.
  • IP address in forms and technical logs - to counter spam and abuse. This is the one case where the basis isn't the service you requested, but our legitimate interest in protecting the site.

04How long we keep data

Account data is kept for as long as the account exists. When you delete your account, the associated data is deleted too.

Article submissions are kept for as long as needed for review and to maintain a history of collaboration. Technical server logs are kept for a limited time and are needed for diagnostics and security.

05Who we share data with

We don't sell your data or share it for advertising. The following services are involved in running the site:

  • the hosting provider whose servers run the site and store the database;
  • Brevo - sending registration confirmation and password reset emails;
  • Google - signing in with a Google account, if you chose that option.
  • Umami - anonymous visit statistics without cookies: which pages are opened, from which country and device. IP addresses are not stored.
  • Sentry - reports about technical errors on the site, without IP addresses or account data.

Each service receives only the data it needs for its function and has its own privacy policy. Data may also be disclosed to authorized bodies where required by law.

06International transfers

Some of these services process data on servers outside Ukraine, including in the European Union and the United States.

07Cookies

The site uses only strictly necessary cookies: your login session, your saved language choice, and cross-site request forgery protection. There are no analytics or advertising cookies, so there's no cookie consent banner either.

08Your rights

You have the right to:

  • find out what data of yours we process, and get a copy of it;
  • correct inaccurate data;
  • delete your account and the data associated with it;
  • object to processing based on our legitimate interest;
  • file a complaint with the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights, who oversees compliance with personal data protection legislation.

To exercise any of these rights, reach out through the contact page. We respond within the timeframe set by law.

09Age of Users

The site isn't intended for children. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with their data, let us know and we'll delete it.

10Data Security

The connection to the site is encrypted. Passwords aren't stored in plain text but as a cryptographic hash, so we can't see your password. Access to the admin panel is restricted.

No system is completely secure, so we can't guarantee the absolute security of transmitted data.

11Automated Decisions

We don't make automated decisions about you and don't engage in profiling.

12Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The current version is always available on this page, with the last-updated date at the bottom.
